Ensuring no individual or family in the Cowichan Valley goes hungry either physically, spiritually or emotionally.
Thanks to the donations of generous donors, coffee and pastries are served from 10 to 11am. A nutritious lunch is served from 11am to 3:30pm. Guests of all ages welcome. If you cannot afford a meal, please come, and join us. All ages are welcome.
Currently because of COVID, the number of guests and length of stay in the center is reduced so social distancing can be practiced and give everyone a chance to have a meal.
Meals are also available for takeout.
Thanks to the generous donations of donors and food suppliers, a nutritious food hamper is available once every 30 days to anyone who feels they are not able to purchases enough food for themselves and their family. Each hamper is specially created for your family with up to a week's supply of food.
We allow you decided if you need a hamper, no income qualification necessary.

In addition to the monthly hamper, extra fresh vegetables, fruit and bread are available each day in the center.
The Cowichan Valley Basket Society is looking for two volunteer drivers, each covering 3-4 days per week (Monday to Saturday).
The Volunteer Drivers are responsible for picking up bread and food donations from various grocery stores in the Duncan area starting at approx. 7:30am on Mondays through Saturdays and delivering to the Food Bank. The time commitment is no more than 2 hours per day. This role requires a truck or cargo-type van.
An honorarium to cover some gas expenses will be provided. A criminal record check and driver's abstract will be required. If you are interested, please contact the office at (250) 746-1566.
Your donation helps the society's buyer to purchase bulk goods for distribution in hampers or use in the dining area.

Donations to this registered charity are recognized with an annual receipt for tax deduction purposes.
Donations of canned goods, dry goods, & fresh produce are always welcome. Food can be dropped off between 10AM and 4PM or a pick up can be arranged for large quantities.
