The Cowichan Valley Basket Society (CVBS) is looking to add two employees to the team.

Programs available at Cowichan Valley Basket Center

Food Kitchen - Monday to Saturday

Thanks to the donations of generous donors, coffee and pastries are served from 10 to 11am. A nutritious lunch is served from 11am to 3:30pm. Guests of all ages welcome. If you cannot afford a meal, please come, and join us. All ages are welcome.

Currently because of COVID, the number of guests and length of stay in the center is reduced so social distancing can be practiced and give everyone a chance to have a meal.

Meals are also available for takeout.

Food Hampers-Days & Time changing August 2nd, 2022

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday- 10am to 12:15pm

Thanks to the generous donations of donors and food suppliers, a nutritious food hamper is available once every 30 days to anyone who feels they are not able to purchases enough food for themselves and their family. Each hamper is specially created for your family with up to a week's supply of food.

We allow you decided if you need a hamper, no income qualification necessary.

NEW-Special Saturday pickup of pre-order hampers are available for families who are unable to come during regular hamper hours.

Call ahead to schedule a time between 10am and 12:15pm to pick up a hamper. Call 250-746-1566

In addition to the monthly hamper, extra fresh vegetables, fruit and bread are available each day in the center.


Volunteer Opportunity

The Cowichan Valley Basket Society is looking for multiple volunteers serving in a number of opportunities.

We are looking for drivers to pick up food donations, sandwich makers, shelve stockers and hamper packers.

Ways to support the Cowichan Valley Basket Society

Your donation helps the society's buyer to purchase bulk goods for distribution in hampers or use in the dining area.

Donations are accepted by:

  • e-Transfer to donate@cvbs.ca (please include your mailing address in the transfer note)
  • cash or cheques can be brought to the office during office hours
  • mail a cheque
  • donate online using the options below

Donations to this registered charity are recognized with an annual receipt for tax deduction purposes.

Food

Donations of canned goods, dry goods, & fresh produce are always welcome. Food can be dropped off between 10AM and 4PM or a pick up can be arranged for large quantities.
